According to Film Divider, a source has confirmed that footballer David Beckham will be donning a medieval outfit and entering the world of traditional folklore as a minor character in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur movie.
“The film tells a King Arthur origin story,” reads the report. “There’s going to be a version of the scene where Excalibur gets drawn from the stone. This is where Beckham factors in.
“There were some football puns written for this scene. And there’s a little bit of a sense that Beckham’s character, who fancies himself a big player in this story, gets a little ticked off when this other fellow, this upstart, is the one who can free the sword.”

The 40-year-old will be star alongside Jude Law, Charlie Hunnam and Anabelle Wallis in the upcoming movie currently titled Knights of the Round Table.
If we are to believe the report, which should be taken with a handful of salt, then the Beckham’s performance looks set to break the fourth wall in a major way – could it be too intruding?
The fascination with all things Arthurian endures to the present day (Rex) Ritchie and Beckham have previously worked together on a short advert for H&M’s spring collection in 2013. You can watch it below.
Filming for Knights of the Round Table is currently on-going, but according to some reports it is set to start off a new series of six King Arthur films, following in the footsteps of the hundreds of other movie universes which Hollywood seem to be intent on pumping out.
