Paul C Lauterbur

American chemist Paul Lauterbur’s work helped deliver the scientific world the MRI to scan internal physique structures. He shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine along with his colleague Peter Mansfield for his work in 2003. His prior work on nuclear magnetic resonance, which he interested in while in the Military, served as the foundation for his work on MRI.
